Speech Therapy Update

We're finally scheduled to begin speech services through the state of NJ! This has been a long process and we're relieved to have a therapist come to the house once a week on Monday evenings. Hopefully between the private speech therapy on Thursdays and now services through the state we'll see even faster progress.

Suitcase Box

Who knew a big box could provide so much fun? From peeling every strip of tape to discovering a hidden Daddy, Charlie loved the new suitcase box.

Charlie's Speech

This summer Jim and I brought Charlie to a child development center to have his hearing and speech evaluated. His hearing passed with flying colors, his speech not so much. Since his speech is somewhat delayed we have signed him up for speech lessons. Nana brings him once a week while I'm at work. He gets half an hour of one-on-one time with a speech therapist during each session. He is already making progress and he's only been going for 6 weeks. He is making more sounds and words and we notice that he's much more verbal in general. They are noticing the same thing at the daycare center. We are very proud of our little guy and we know he'll catch up to where he needs to be in no time!

We had a wonderful time in Naples. We loved our hotel, the pool and all the friendly people down there. Charlie loved the Children's Museum, the great zoo and the splash pad. Hope we can go back again!
